What If Your Career Pivot Is Actually a Homecoming?
Sometimes, a shift in your career isn’t about starting over.
Sometimes, it’s about returning to who you’ve always been.
Even though I’m now a Certified Career and Personal Growth Coach, I didn’t land here on a traditional timeline. My own career path has been nonlinear, deeply personal, and ultimately transformative.
When my son was growing up, my primary role was “Home Manager,” with a variety of side hustles to help support our family financially. For years, I wore many hats, often at the same time. But woven through those years was a consistent thread: I found myself in informal leadership and mentoring roles, supporting others in their growth and alignment.
Looking back, I realize I was coaching long before I ever held the title.
In 2023, as my son prepared to graduate high school, I felt the pull to make a shift. Not just to do something new, but to step more fully into who I’ve always been. That’s when I pursued professional coach certification, to give shape and structure to the work I already loved.
Two and a half years later, I can honestly say: this work has been hard, messy, beautiful, and not at all what I expected. But it’s mine. And in it, I’ve come home to myself in a way I didn’t know was possible.
Now I help others do the same.
Are You in a Season of Career Transition?
It can show up in many ways:
A sense of burnout.
A quiet misalignment you can’t quite name.
The feeling that what once worked… just doesn’t anymore.
If that’s where you are, you’re not broken. You’re evolving.
You have permission to grow, to change, to shift.
To step into your next season. The one that feels like home.
If you're sensing it could be time for something new, or ready to redefine what thriving looks like for you, I’d love to connect. I offer a free Alignment Session—a 15-minute call to talk about where you are, where you want to be, and how coaching can support your next steps. Start here.
Favorite Things:
As always, I love to share my current favorite things with you so here’s what I’m loving these days.
📚 Reading: Finishing Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride and about to start my summer re-read of We Were Liars so I can watch the series on Amazon. This was one of my favorite novels ever!
🎧 Listening: Modern Folk Station on Amazon Music. We got an Echo Show for our kitchen and this has been a great station to have on as background music during the day.
🍽️ Eating: Snack Plates have been my go-to lunch for weeks. Basically adult lunchables and I’m not sad about it.
📺 Watching: Bodkin on Netflix….murder mystery/dark comedy so if that’s your jam, it’s a good one!
